March | 30 Day Wellness Challenge

Updated: 6 days ago

Welcome to our first wellness challenge of 2025!

The most important thing you can do for your over-all wellness is to calm down your nervous system and brain. Yesterday, I started to discuss this in my post 5 Tips to Reduce Stress.

Today, we will dive in a little deeper into how to pause, relax and calm down your thoughts.

Take a moment to really understand the components of the brain and why learning to manage your stress will is vitally important to your health/healing. To learn more, check out my e-book Your Brain is Speaking & Your Body is Listening.

I want to encourage you to make the time for this challenge and learning all you can about making your wellness a top priority, because this is the key to unlock and reverse dis-ease throughout the body, along with your mind and soul.

Why is pausing and slowing down important? It creates space for mental clarity and emotional healing. It leads to clearer thinking and better decision-making. It helps us gain a better understanding of ourselves, our values, and our aspirations. It leaves room for the Holy Spirit to stop a negative thought (or loop) and replace it with whatever is pure, true, admirable, holy and lovely. (Philippians 4:8)

  • Reduced Stress: Taking time to slow down allows the body to activate the relaxation response, lowering cortisol levels and reducing stress.

  • Improved Mental Clarity: Pausing gives the mind a chance to process information, leading to clearer thinking and better decision-making.

  • Enhanced Creativity: Stepping back from constant activity can spark creativity, as the mind is free to wander and make new connections.

  • Better Emotional Regulation: Slowing down fosters self-awareness, helping individuals recognize and manage their emotions more effectively. Slowing down enables us to be more in tune with our emotions and better handle difficult or uncomfortable situations.

  • Increased Productivity: Ironically, taking breaks can boost productivity. Regular pauses can help maintain focus and energy, leading to more efficient work.

  • Stronger Relationships: Being present and attentive during interactions enhances communication and deepens connections with others. Slowing down enables us to really listen to what someone is saying and understand the message they are trying to convey. This helps foster meaningful relationships and connections with people in our lives.

  • Greater Mindfulness: Slowing down encourages mindfulness, allowing individuals to fully experience and appreciate the present moment.

  • Improved Physical Health: Rest and relaxation can lead to better physical health by reducing the risk of stress-related ailments and promoting healthier lifestyle choices.

  • Enhanced Resilience: Regularly taking time to pause builds emotional resilience, equipping individuals to handle challenges more effectively.

  • Increased Life Satisfaction: Embracing a slower pace can lead to a greater appreciation of life’s moments, fostering overall happiness and fulfillment.

As you can see there are many benefits from taking a pause and resting our mind. Especially if you are in a season of doing the inner healing work after trauma, loss or a divorce; your brain is vigilant and often times stuck in a fight/flight/freeze pattern. Putting the prayer below into practice will begin to destroy the lies you believe and give the body a much-needed break from the cycle of rumination. It is a daily practice and one you will need to embrace for the rest of your life. Thus, why God clearly says to renew your mind with His word and do NOT follow the ways of this world. Which cause anxiety, depression, and dis-ease in the body.

He created us to rest in Him, be still, and allow Him to carry our burdens. He promises to those who diligently seek Him, they will have peace and all crooked paths will be made straight. He promises to give us all the grace we need for every season we are in and do good works to glorify Him. He promises that He gave us a sound mind, one filled with joy, and the ability to do all things through His strength in us. He promises to give us peace that surpasses understanding as we trust Him with our whole heart, mind and soul.

Without pausing each morning, during the day, and before bed to think about the truths I just shared, it is impossible to experience the peace, joy, hope, and love of God.

I shared the following Breath Prayer during the 30 Days of Positive Thoughts challenge to refocus your mind on truth, slow down your breathing and give your body the chance to be present in the moment. The more you practice the Breath Prayer the deeper the healing and lasting results. In my INNER HEALING WELLNESS group I shared a Let's Breathe Guide that you can get inside the group for free to help you learn many breathing techniques.

Please don't stop using the following daily affirmations and add your own as God leads. They will always help your mind and body get back to being regulated no matter what you face. Remember the power of truth to destroy the lies!

Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale, don't rush through speaking them out loud - and try to look in the mirror today as you say:

I AM ENOUGH

I AM WORTHY

I AM IMPORTANT

I AM LOVEABLE

I AM SAFE NOW

I AM BEAUTIFUL JUST AS I AM

I AM KIND

I AM CALM

I AM PEACEFUL

I AM CHOSEN

I AM LOVED

I AM FORGIVEN

I AM NOT FORESAKEN

I HAVE ALL I NEED (Read Psalm 23 at least once a week over yourself)

Monday, we are going to dive into eating for healing your body from the inside out. I will be sharing recipes and meal plans throughout this challenge during the week (Saturday and Sunday are for you to do what brings you the most peace, joy, laughter and love into your mind, body and soul.)
