Why You Keep Ending Up in the Same Place With a Different Face.

You have done this before.
Different person. Different beginning. Different reason to believe that this time would be different.
Same place.
And you are tired of it. Tired of hoping and ending up here again. Tired of wondering what is wrong with you. Tired of not being able to explain it even to yourself.
I want to give you the explanation today. Not to shame you. Not to add one more thing to carry. But because finally having a name for something you have been living without understanding is one of the most freeing things that can happen to a person.
So let me give you that name.
You Have Wanted This Your Whole Life
If you came from a hard childhood, you want a good relationship more than almost anyone.
You have wanted it your whole life. You ache for it in a way that is difficult to put into words. You have done the work, read the books, prayed the prayers, and you genuinely cannot understand why, no matter how badly you want it, you keep ending up in the same place.
With someone who never quite gives you the thing you are starving for.
I am going to tell you why. And it is going to be hard to hear at first. But stay with me because on the other side of this truth is the beginning of something completely new.
The answer is not bad luck. It is not that all the good ones are taken. It is not that you just have not met the right person yet.
The answer is that you have been choosing them. Not consciously. Not on purpose in the way we usually mean that word. But by a design your nervous system put in place long before you were old enough to question it.
What Your Body Learned to Call Love
Here is what nobody tells women who grew up in homes where love was inconsistent, conditional, withheld, or delivered alongside pain.
Your nervous system learned what love feels like from those early experiences. Not the love you deserved. The love you actually received. And it filed that away as the definition.
So, when you grew up and started choosing partners, you did not choose with your mind. You chose with your body. And your body went looking for the familiar.
Not someone who loves you well. Someone who teases you with love the exact way you were teased with it as a child. Someone who gives you almost enough. Someone who makes you work for it, reach for it, earn it. Someone who feels, deep in your nervous system, like home.
And home for you was a place where love was always just slightly out of reach.
This is the part that almost no one understands about themselves. Steady, reliable, easy love does not register to a nervous system wired in instability. It feels flat. Boring. Somehow off, like a key that does not fit the lock you are used to. So when someone safe and available comes along and offers you exactly what you say you want, you feel nothing. No pull. No spark. And you walk away from the very thing you have been asking God for because your body could not recognize it as love.
And then someone a little unavailable comes along. A little withholding. A little familiar in that old aching way. And your whole system lights up.
This feels like love.
Of course it does. It is the exact feeling you grew up calling love. You have not been drawn to them despite the way they keep you reaching. You have been drawn to them because of it.
That is not weakness. That is a wounded nervous system doing the only thing it knows how to do.
It Was Never Your Fault
I need you to really receive this.
You were not broken for choosing the way you chose. You were not stupid or naive or destined for bad relationships. You were doing exactly what a nervous system shaped by early pain does. You were seeking home. And the home you inherited taught you that love comes with uncertainty, that you have to earn it, that the ache of almost having it is what love feels like.
The good news and the hard news are the same thing.
That story was written in you before you had any say in it. And it can be rewritten. But it requires work that goes deeper than finding someone new. It requires healing the place inside you where the original wound lives.
That is inner child healing. And it is not a luxury or a self-help trend. It is the most important work a woman from a hard background can do before she chooses love again.
Because you cannot build a healthy relationship on an unhealed foundation. You will keep choosing what feels familiar until the familiar changes. And the familiar only changes when you go back to the place it was formed and let God meet you there.
But God
Here is what I want you to sit with for a moment.
You found this post today. That is not an accident. God does not randomly place words in front of hurting people. He leads them. He saw every relationship that left you emptier than before. He saw every time you chose the almost-love because it was the only love your body knew how to recognize. He saw the pattern before you did.
And He led you here anyway.
Not to shame you. Not to give you one more thing to feel bad about. To show you that the pattern can end. That the score can change. That the story you inherited does not have to be the story you live for the rest of your life.
You Healed, 1. Old Pattern, 0.
That is what is available to you. Starting right now. Starting with the decision to stop blaming yourself for what your nervous system was conditioned to do and start doing the work that rewires it.
What the Healing Actually Looks Like
Real healing from this pattern is not about finding the right person. It is about becoming someone whose body can finally recognize being loved well as the most beautiful thing in the world instead of the most terrifying.
It happens in layers.
First, you have to understand what happened to you. Not to live there but to name it clearly and without minimizing it. What did love look and feel like in your home growing up? What did you have to do to receive it? What happened when you needed it and it was not there? That little girl is still inside you. She is still making decisions from the place where she was first shaped. She needs to be seen and heard and told the truth about what she deserved and did not get.
Then you have to allow your nervous system to begin to feel safe with something new. With steadiness. With consistency. With love that does not require you to earn it or chase it or brace for it to disappear. That does not happen overnight. It happens slowly, through intentional work, through safe and supported healing, through the daily practice of letting real care marinate in you until your body stops reading it as danger and starts reading it as home.
A new home. One you build instead of the one you inherited.
Two Things I Want to Offer You
If what you just read touched something real in you, I want to point you toward two specific things that were built for exactly this moment in your life.
The first is The Inner Healing Journey Method. This is where the deep work happens. The nervous system work. The inner child work. The work of going back to where the wound was formed and allowing God to meet you there with truth, safety, and the kind of healing that changes not just your thinking but the way your body experiences love. This is not surface level. This is the foundation everything else gets built on. You can find it at innerhealingcoaching.com.
The second is Redeeming Your Love, Safe and Sacred Dating, part of my most important work, Raising Her Worth. Because once the inner healing begins, you need wisdom for how to move forward in relationship differently. How to recognize the real thing. How to let it in. How to build something sacred instead of repeating what was familiar.
Redeeming Your Love was written for the woman who is ready to stop choosing the almost-love and start building something real. Everything is at innerhealingcoaching.com.
You do not have to do both at once. You just have to take the next step. And the next step is deciding that the pattern ends here.

Everything I have written here goes even deeper in this conversation. I want you to watch it and let both reach you.
The Score Is Changing
I want to leave you with something I need you to carry with you today.
You are not too old for this. You are not too far into the pattern for it to change. You are not too broken or too complicated or too far gone for God to rewrite this story.
Every woman who has done this work started exactly where you are right now. Reading something that finally named what she had been living. Feeling that mix of grief and recognition and the first small flicker of something that might be hope.
That flicker is real. Do not talk yourself out of it.
The work ahead of you is not easy. But it is the most important work you will ever do.
Because when you heal the place where the pattern started, everything changes. The relationships you choose change. The love you allow yourself to receive changes. The story you pass on to the women who come after you changes.
You Healed, 1. Old Pattern, 0.
Come find me @innerhealingcoach It is time to change the score.
And if you know a woman who keeps ending up in the same place wondering why, will you send this to her? She does not need to be told to choose better. She needs to understand why she has been choosing the way she has. And she needs to know there is a way to change it.
God bless your healing. God bless the courage it took to read this all the way to the end.
I will see you next week.
With love and respect for your journey,
